Cadillac has always been a premier American automobile brand. That was especially true in 1957 when the restyled Eldorado made a big splash with a remarkable new design. From the bullet front bumpers to the unique rear end with fins that rose from curvy quarter panels, this car could not be missed. That remains true almost 70 years later.

The top-of-the-line Eldorado nameplate was available in three different styles for 1957, those being the 4-door (Brougham), 2-door convertible (Biarritz), and 2-door hardtop (Seville) as seen here. While Cadillac built more than 118,000 of the base Series 62 coupes, only 2,100 were Eldorado Seville coupes produced, making this a fairly rare Cadillac.

This example had a complete refinish in its original code 98 Copper Metallic color along with a brown padded vinyl top. It’s such a great looking combination on this body style, especially with all the brightwork and gold badging. I also think it makes it look a little smaller than its actual length of 222 inches. Also present are the very rare gold turbine Sabre-spoke wheels. The whitewall radial tires have 2023 date codes.

Power comes from Cadillac’s 365ci 300hp engine which had a top end rebuild in 2025. It is backed by a 4-speed Hydramatic transmission and a 3.36 rear end. As expected, power steering and power brakes are also present. All mechanical systems are in good operating condition with 2026 maintenance including new ball joints, new sway bar links / bushings, new master cylinder, new brake hoses, machined brake drums, a new idler arm, and a complete new exhaust system.

The interior has also been redone and looks magnificent. From the headliner to the seats to the dashboard, it all shows how Cadillac was the luxury standard of its day. The seats feature code 58 black/copper cloth with copper metallic leather upholstery. You don’t see anything like this today! This car was equipped with the optional heater which has a new core and blower motor. The power seat motor was also rebuilt. All four power windows work properly as do the speedometer, gauges, horn, wipers, headlights, fog lights, backup lights, dash lights, and turn signals. Finally, you can’t miss the very unique drum style clock!

This classic Cadillac has plenty to offer. It is not only a beautiful car but will also take you anywhere in true 1950’s style. And as an Eldorado Seville it represents a rare model that had a short lifespan (1956-1960). Just be sure to measure your garage before you bring this one home.
