It doesn’t get much better than riding top-down in a Corvette. This eye-catching 2004 6-speed convertible is a great example of a fifth generation (C5) car. With a fairly low 57k miles this 2-owner C5 offers both performance and practicality. It is also well optioned with favorites like the 1SB package and magnetic ride control.
The C5 design has aged well and still has an exotic look, especially as a convertible. This car’s Torch Red paint really makes the car stand out, while the black convertible top gives a nice contrast and is easy to operate. Note the optional body side moldings too. There is also a removeable wind screen for reduced cabin noise with the top down. The optional polished aluminum wheels wear brand new Toyo tires with working TPMS sensors.
This Corvette is equipped with Chevrolet’s excellent 350hp LS1 motor along with the desirable ZF 6-speed manual transmission. This is followed by a 3.42 rear axle ratio for good acceleration. You will also find the optional F55 magnetic ride control which has four new shocks. An aftermarket cat-back exhaust gives a little more growl too. The brakes were just serviced for smooth operation, and a recent alignment has it tracking perfectly.
The black leather interior is surprisingly spacious with dual power seats that seem to fit just right. The 1SB package includes a head-up display (HUD), memory package, and tilt / telescoping steering wheel. The optional dual zone climate control works as it should, and the Delco sound system includes the optional 12-disc CD changer. Adding to the car’s utility is a roomy trunk with three storage wells. A new set of Lloyds floor mats is included along with both keyfobs and the window sticker showing an MSRP of $57,405 - almost $98,000 in today’s money.
The C5 Corvette really delivers an impressive bang for the buck. It’s hard to believe this price point can deliver such a combination of appearance, performance, practicality, and reliability. Whether you want to run through the gears in sport mode or enjoy touring at almost 30 mpg, this one is ready to go.
