Two owners and 7,732 miles. That’s a great start when you’re looking for a collectible Mustang, but it only gets better with this 2004 Mach 1. This car is in like-new condition and remains very original. It includes the factory window sticker, sales paperwork, owner’s manuals, and more. It all makes for one of the nicest such cars you will find.
This Mustang looks fantastic with its desirable Competition Orange paint and black Mach 1 accents. Of course, you can’t miss the Shaker hood scoop that is a throwback to the original 1969 Mach 1. There is also a black front splitter and single wing rear spoiler. Note too the 40th anniversary fender badges and shiny dual exhaust tips. The factory 17” Heritage alloy wheels are one of Ford’s best such designs and still wear their original Goodyear 245/45 tires.
The engine compartment looks equally impressive. Everything is original and unmodified with the exception of the battery. The engine is Ford’s 4.6L V8 rated at 305hp. The Mach 1 package received an appearance upgrade with bare aluminum valve covers in place of the standard black pieces. While you could purchase a Mach 1 with an automatic transmission, this car has a proper 5-speed manual. The 8.8” rear end has a limited slip differential with 3.55 gears. There is also an aftermarket cat-back exhaust with a little more growl than the factory setup.
The interior is what you would expect from a car with 7k miles. The black leather seats have gray accent stripes as a throwback to the original Mach 1 platform. This example also has the optional interior upgrade package which includes 4-way headrests, aluminum door locks, brushed bezels, and brushed aluminum pedals. The sound system has the optional 6-disc CD changer too. Everything works properly including the air conditioning. A shorty antenna has been installed though the original is included.
This is a remarkable car with no excuses. It’s the right color with the right equipment, in excellent condition and fully documented. Whether you want to get it out on the road or tuck it away in a collection, you won’t find many examples like this one.
