I think everyone is aware of the fury of the Hellcat. This 2017 Charger version brings it all to bear and then some, laying down a full 794 rwhp (estimated 900+ on the engine). You won’t find a better 4-door thrill ride.
This 2-owner California car shows 41k miles and has a clean Autocheck report. It is finished in Maximum Steel Metallic paint that gives it a menacing look. This is further enhanced by the tinted windows and factory 20” black wheels with Pirelli tires. Note the polished fender badges as well. As a Hellcat, this Charger also has the special aluminum hood with heat extractors.
The real story on any Hellcat is the supercharged 6.2L engine. Factory rated at 707 hp, this one has been tuned and massaged by MPR Motorsports in Lake Elsinore, California to produce an additional 200+ hp. This was achieved through dyno tuning (tuner included) along with hardware upgrades like larger fuel injectors and a supercharger overdrive pulley. It’s a little surly at cold idle but remains surprisingly well-mannered during ordinary driving. There is also a 3” exhaust that does not have catalytic converters.
The engine is followed by an HP90 8-speed automatic transmission and a 2.62 limited slip rear end. Additional equipment includes very effective Brembo disc brakes with 6-piston front calipers. Adjustable ride control is also present along with a trunk mounted battery.
The black leather interior is highlighted by the Laguna leather bucket seats with embossed Hellcat logos along with heat and ventilation functions. The dashboard and center console look sharp with carbon fiber style inserts, while the multi-function steering wheel includes paddle shifters. All the controls are well laid out around the 8.4” color touchscreen display. There is also a great sound system with Bluetooth and cell phone integration.
Sometimes it’s hard to imagine the Hellcat Charger even exists. After all, who would envision this much performance out of a 4-door sedan? But it is very real, and this example takes the impressive factory offering even further. Think you’re up for it?
