Here is a one-owner 1999 Mustang GT – 35th Anniversary edition that has been driven about 20,000 miles.  While that is certainly nice, the real attention getter is more than $70,000 in performance upgrades since new (receipts included) which has yielded a potent road course car that can still be driven to the track.  While you might be quick to spot the modern Boss 302 crate engine or modified interior, that doesn’t begin to cover all the enhancements to the driveline, brakes, steering, suspension, body, and more.

There is a lot to compress into this ad but let’s start with the body.  The front clip is a Cobra setup with an American Muscle Mach 1 grille delete.  There is also a Cervini Cobra R style hood on MRT hood struts which is accompanied by a Mach 1 rear spoiler.  The battery has been relocated to the trunk.  Note the keyless entry keypad tucked up near the rear license plate – nice!  This Mustang comes with a set of 17” Konig Villain wheels as pictured which are nice the street along.  It also includes an extra set of racing wheels and tires for the track.

Now let’s look underneath.  Maximum Motorsports components abound including the K-member, front and rear control arms, Torque-arm, Panhard bar, subframe connectors, and a strut tower brace.  It continues with the coilover conversions and camber/caster plates for easy changes at the track.  You will also find Bilstein heavy duty strut/shock assemblies, a bump steer kit, front sway bar relocation kit, and fully adjustable rear sway bar.  The car is further fitted with Kenny Brown jacking rails for added stiffness and pinch weld protection.

On to the drivetrain!  The original 4.6L 2V engine was not getting the job done.  So in 2012 it was yanked in favor of a new Boss 302 crate engine, ECU, and wiring harness from Ford Racing, all with fewer than 1,000 miles since installation.  This 5.0L Road Runner platform is the high performance variant of the Coyote design.  It is rated at 444hp out of the box, but after a few tweaks and some tuning this one is closer to 500hp (423 rwhp) on pump gas as shown by the dyno sheet.  Note the Boss 302 intake plenum was swapped out due to clearance issues.  Additional features include larger Aeromotive fuel rails, GT500 power steering pump, remote oil filter, Canton oil cooler, and BBK long tube headers with X-pipe.  Also worth mentioning are the Fluidyne aluminum radiator and Cobra fuel tank with dual pumps.  The SCT handheld tuner is included too.

The transmission was upgraded to a Tremec TKO600 5-speed fed by a Centerforce dual friction clutch on a Fidanza aluminum flywheel.  The 8.8” rear end now houses an Eaton Truetrac differential with 3.73 gears from Ford Racing and 31-spline axles.  The brakes were changed to 13” Stoptech assemblies in front and a Ford Racing setup in back with Hawk pads all around.  A Kenny Brown front brake duct kit is present and Motul 600 DOT-4 fluid is used for good high temperature performance.  The power steering received aluminum rack bushings and a solid steering shaft.

The interior looks like that of a performance car starting with the 6-point roll bar with removeable side bars.  The factory seats were jettisoned in favor of suede Corbeau racing buckets with 5-point harnesses, and the rear seat was deleted.  Gear selection is through a tight MRT shifter.  The carpet, door panels, headliner, center console, steering wheel, and dashboard remain stock.  However, the instrument cluster has been replaced with a set of Autometer gauges including a 5” tachometer with shift light.  The car is still equipped with a horn, wipers, headlights, turn signals, radio, and power windows.  The cruise control and a/c components have been removed though.

This is not some clapped out weekend racer.  Rather, this is a professionally built Mustang with all its systems upgraded in concert to produce a complete, high-performance car.  It comes with two inches of receipts along with notes, setup information, fluid specs, and more.  It also includes the original purchase contract, owner’s manual, Ford promotional brochure, and a clean title.  This is a fantastic opportunity for someone to own a very capable Mustang that is ready to go, all without having to wait six months or spend six figures.
