With exactly 15 miles this 2002 Harley-Davidson VRSCA V-Rod may be the lowest mileage example in the world. It looks like new and still has the factory sticker on the right-side mirror. It starts right up and the Check Engine light turns off properly. And as a first-year example of one of Harley’s most revolutionary designs, this ultra-low mile bike is a spectacular collectible.
The V-Rod brought a lot of new technology to Harley-Davidson. It was a big departure from tradition but was also the blueprint for the future. While the 1,130cc engine remained a classic V-twin design, it was now liquid-cooled with dual overhead cams and four valves per cylinder. It also brought electronic fuel injection and coil-on plugs to the table. The resulting 115hp made this platform the most powerful street engine ever produced by Harley.
There were plenty of other new design elements too. The wheelbase measures a lengthy 67.5 inches thanks in part to a 38 degree fork angle. The fuel tank was moved under the seat for a lower center of gravity. There is the distinctive silver perimeter frame along with plenty of brushed aluminum. And a hydraulic clutch was employed for the 5-speed transmission while the primary drive used gears instead of a chain.
With just 15 miles this bike has been a display piece its entire life. The Autocheck report shows nothing except two title events over 21 years. This V-Rod still has its original tires and includes an owner’s manual sealed in plastic. Note the Screamin’ Eagle exhaust and Harley-Davidson windscreen too.
