This 1969 Firebird will take you back to when Pontiac was a real player in the muscle car game.  Like Chevrolet’s Camaro, the Firebird was Pontiac’s answer to the Mustang.  It proved to be a huge it with more than 82,000 produced in the first year, outselling the established GTO.

This example was originally delivered to Barton Pontiac in St. Louis, and it remained in Missouri until 2016.  The car was originally ordered in the custom color of Windward Blue.  It has been repainted and received new quarter panels and a new trunk floor as well.  The underside and rockers are all original and solid except for a small patch at the driver footwell.  There are many new parts including the bumpers, moldings, and front grille.  There is also new rubber weatherstripping throughout.  And don't miss the unique 1969 rear side markers.

The engine was upgraded from the factory 350ci setup to a more robust 400ci arrangement.  The block is a 1970 XH code (350hp) while the heads are #13 castings which produce good compression while still running on pump gas.  Note the heads received a valve job that included hardened seats.  Other features include an HEI distributor, Edelbrock intake, and Holley carburetor with electric choke.  The manual transmission is a Muncie 4-speed which really adds to the driving experience, while the front disc brakes give good stopping power.

The dark blue interior is in nice condition with a variety of new items as well.  Aftermarket equipment includes a set of gauges under the dash along with a wooden steering wheel and stereo / CD player.  The transmission has been equipped with a clutch switch for safer starting.  The car’s wipers, horn, heater, and defroster all work properly.  So do all the interior and exterior lights, along with the turn signals and backup lights.

The first generation Firebirds continue to grow in popularity while remaining more affordable than an equivalent Camaro.  This one is turn-key and ready to go and includes all PHS documents as well.  It is also a very fun car to drive and turns plenty of heads in the process.
