This 2007 Corvette Z06 is about as nice as you’ll find. To begin, it is a one-owner car with just 9,500 miles and a clean history since new – great attributes for any used vehicle much less a performance C6. In addition, this was the best Corvette you could buy in 2007 with the top-of-the-line 2LZ package along with factory navigation and chrome aluminum wheels. It didn’t get any better.
As you might expect, this example is exceptionally clean throughout and free of any modifications; no aftermarket intake, window tinting, or other such items. Even the Goodyear tires are original (we can assist with replacement if interested). The car has a menacing look with its factory black paint, wide body shape, and other Z06 enhancements. It is a lot more than good looks though, offering a level of power and performance you might not expect from such a practical and (relatively) affordable package. You may be well aware of this car’s amazing capabilities, but they’re still fun to talk about. 0-60 in 3.7 seconds, the quarter mile in 11 seconds, and a top speed of 198 mph. The brakes will stop from 60 mph in only 111 feet. All this and it can still deliver 26 mpg on the highway with the air conditioning running.
Any discussion of this Corvette must include its aluminum 427 cubic inch (7.0L) 505 hp LS7 engine. It’s surprising street manners mask the race-bred technology underneath, such as a dry sump oiling system, titanium connecting rods, sodium filled exhaust valves, and CNC ported cylinder heads. The big motor is linked to a robust Tremec 6-speed manual transmission and limited slip differential with a 3.42 gear ratio.
Handling is also outstanding; with its performance suspension and wide tires (275 front, 325 rear) it Is capable of more than 1g of lateral acceleration. The Corvette’s traction control is useful for everyday driving but also includes a very effective Competition Mode. Brakes use monster 14” rotors in front and 13.4” in back which give spectacular stopping power. The exhaust is very unique as well with a valve in the mufflers that can turn the system into a 3-inch straight pipe.
In addition to all the standard Z06 goodies (Head-Up Display, FE4 suspension, etc.) this car is equipped with the desirable 2LZ package. This was the best you could get in 2007 with features like seat mounted air bags, telescoping steering wheel, auto dimming mirrors, heated seats, rear privacy shade, memory package, and universal remote transmitter. It also has the Bose audio system with navigation and premium 7-speaker stereo. All manuals are included along with a copy of the window sticker.
Performance aside, I don’t think there’s a better looking C6 than a black Z06. The wider proportions and front air intake really enhance the appearance, and the factory chrome aluminum wheels are a great accent too. This car’s black leather interior is fantastic as well. To find one with such limited ownership and low miles makes it that much more special.
